Nov 27 1825 in Berks County, PA. He was baptized on Nov 27 1826 in Salem Reformed
Church, Bethel TWP, Berks Co., PA.(42)
He emigrated in 1843 from Pennsylvania. to Indiana. IN 1843 John and his brother
Jonathan, Mary Ann, Jonathan's wife, and Jonathan's three small children (Clara,
David, and Susannah) left Pennsylvania and started toward the west. Mary Ann's
mother Christine Kettner Ansprach also traveled with them. They stopped along
the way in Ohio and then proceeded farther west into Indiana. They eventually
arrived in what is now Morgan Township, Owen County, IN. This became their home
for the rest of their lives and the home of many of their descendants. He resided
between 1892 and 1916 in Gosport, IN (Morgan Township). He died on Apr 5 1916
in Wayne Twp., Owen Co., IN.(42) He was
buried on Apr 7 1916 in Little Mount Cemetery, Owen County, IN.
(41) He was German Luthern in Olive Hill, IN (Morgan Township).
Great-great-grandpa John Hunsicker wore a long white beard. Phyllis Hunsicker
saw his Old Dutch Bible that he used to read to his grandchildren. He was said
to be a carpenter and of Dutch nationality. In the Census of 1860 he was recorded
as a "House Joiner". He was of the German Lutheran religion. The
bible was 186 years old in 1952 when Phyllis viewed it and recorded some of this
information. He was married to Anna (Mary) DICE on May 15 1851.
Anna (Mary) DICE was born in 1828 in Ohio. She died on Jan 4 1872.
